Covert Vampiric Operations: Volume Two: Rogue State – Jeff Mariotte

This volume has a different writer than the previous one-shot, but he doesn’t do a bad job. It is a good story that hits the ground running and doesn’t lag. There isn’t a lot of character development and the premise – of secret agents going rogue – certainly isn’t a new one. But it fills the time nicely and all hangs together coherently.

The art and the layout have become bolder and although it seems to try too hard sometimes it should definitely get marks for endeavour. As this is mostly a nocturnal setting effort goes into lighting up the darkness and making it viewable.

A nice little romp but not in the big leagues. No Thumbs.

65/300.
